Title: A local law providing regulations, restrictions, and standards for Short-Term Rental
Properties
SECTION 1 PURPOSE
The Town recognizes that it would be beneficial for the Town to control and regulate the transient
The provisions of this Local Law are intended to preserve and protect the health, character, safety
and general welfare of the residential neighborhoods and rural areas where short-term rental
properties can and cannot be operated, and to reduce the risk for potential adverse effects that can
occur with the operation of short-term rental properties. These potential adverse effects include
but are not limited to: 1) Changing the make-up of RIL residential communities from primarily
permanent residents to a mixture of transient and permanent residents, and 2) increasing the
frequency of large gatherings that can disturb the quiet nature of the neighborhoods.

Outdoor Wood Boilers Law
This Local Law is enacted to ensure that outdoor wood boilers are utilized in a manner that does not create a nuisance and in recognition of the impact that outdoor wood boilers have on the health, safety, and welfare of the citizens of the Town of Preble.
Residency Requirements
A local law to establish the residency requirements for the appointed offices of Code Enforcement Officer, Town Attorney, and Dog Control Officer.
Flood Damage Prevention
The Town Board of the Town of Preble finds that the potential and/or actual damages from flooding and erosion may be a problem to the residents of the Town of Preble and that such damages may include: destruction or loss of private and public housing, damage to public facilities, both publicly and privately owned, and injury to and loss of human life. In order to minimize the threat of such damages and to achieve the purposes and objectives hereinafter set forth, this local law is adopted.
Town of Preble Code of Ethics
The purpose of this local law is to convey standards of ethical conduct to officers and employees of the Town of Preble and serve as a guide for the official conduct of the officers and employees of the Town of Preble.
